Having personally overseen the shipping of everything sold in store, halfway around the World. I know how I like my furniture to be taken care of.
Prior to shipping to New Zealand I have personally dismantled and packaged all the furniture. When shipping your order within New Zealand I will employ the same exacting standards I employed for export wrapping. Whenever possible I will recycle, using the same packaging that has been made for each individual piece. My practices are a considerable step above that which I have received from professional export wrappers.
When packing sideboards all shelves are removed and packaged separately along with shelf studs. I prefer to remove and stow sliding doors or fix in place by safe non-damaging means. Firstly any vulnerable mouldings receive additional packaging care. Each sideboard then has a layer of custom cut double wall cardboard. These pieces are folded to encase the entire body of the board. Thereby creating double or triple layers of card protecting the more vulnerable edges. The sideboard is then wrapped in a layer of laminated export quality bubble wrap. With the legs being individually wrapped. All sideboards arrived in the same condition they left in. Despite the multiple handlings and the rigours of Ocean travel they endured.
I will also remove legs and dismantle pieces where possible for both safer transportation and to condense space for lower deliver costs. - Any dismantling will be done in accordance with the purchasers wishes. Instructions for reassembly will be included.
A full crating service can be provided - this will add considerable time and cost - sideboard crating estimate is $800
